When Elena Siri asked me to be the Mistress of Ceremonies for her fashion show, it was without hesitation or reservation that I said yes. This queen has served as a light in my life in the fashion industry and personally. She has customized garments for me and even surprise me with breathtaking pieces that I did not even request IN my favorite colors! She is truly a gift from God and I was delighted to be asked to help her during her royal journey…
This dress was made in China.
I often see people post about not purchasing “from China”… my experiences have been very different. While I will admit the fabric may not be the best, you do need to order a size up and I have witnessed many who received garments that did not look like the pictures, I have had much success (although I am very careful and I scour reviews). Ordering inexpensive pieces from Amazon for last minute gigs or to add quick variety to what I like to wear has been swell! LOL.
Here is a brief look into the history of Elena Siri Custom Creations and I… The long blue dress is completely customized and it is ALL YARN. My sweater with the teal ribbon (for sexual abuse awareness and prevention) is customized and ALL YARN. The hat and scarf set, customized and ALL YARN. Do you know what yarn looks like before it looks like this? A ball. A straight up ball. Elena has the hands of God to be even turn a ball into beauty that can be treasured for years to come.
Her fashion show, Show and Tell: Dreams of a Fashion Designer, was one of the BEST shows I have ever seen in my life! I have been to plenty, but this show was very well organized with unique pieces and gorgeous models. This show was fabulous, featuring the beautiful model and praise dancer, Manisha Counts and comedy from Pamela “Ms. Maybel” Hill. The guests who purchased raffled tickets took home some of the best prizes from the participating vendors. The value of the show far exceeded the ticket price and I definitely left the location, a golf course mind you, wanting to give up all of my money to many of the featured designers. To keep the pictures grouped together, the following slideshows are of each showcased designer (the only one not included is Chloe and Isabel Jewelry owned and operated by Charlene Riley. All of these photos were taken by Mardis Hall, my hubby).

the four pictures before the last wouldnt load buy I totally love the floor length backless dress. Sometimes finding garments for tall women is a struggle but your outfit is dope.
Wow! She is very talented! I couldn’t imagine how someone could do all of that by hand… like you said… from a ball of yarn! Looks like a fabulous event.
That dress is gorgeous!! And the fashions were beautiful! I will definitely have to check her out!
The dress is beautiful! And I loved looking at the fashions from the show! Very talented and seems like a great event to be apart of!
I love the patterns on your dress. I think one of my frustrations about finding clothing for myself is finding clothes that fit women who are curvy. It is so hard to find clothing for curvy women, even in maternity clothes! I love that this fashion show featured a diverse line for men, women, and different shapes and sizes!
This is a really cute dress. I want it for myself. I have never bought clothes from Amazon… wait, I am lying. I did get a swimsuit that was too small.
I just love this dress, and it looks so good on you. The cut outs in the back are a pleasant surprise!
I like the dress, its very simple in the front but the back gives lots of details which I enjoyed. I know someone else who does yarn work on clothes and I love the concept and what you can do as most people equate yarn with quilts not clothes.
Your dress is gorgeous and now I must spend some time researching these designers that make plus sized clothes. Definitely intrigued.
Wow the design on this dress is stellar. So gorgeous on your petite frame!
Great story!
