I have attended several International Natural Hair Meetup Days (INHMD) over the years… this 2015 Baltimore event was amazing!
When I walked into the room, every single seat was filled with beautiful women with large afro to long waves to cute, colored and fresh big chops. From great vendors to a highly knowledgeable panelist of experts to a necessary makeup demonstration, this event incorporated the fundamentals for budding naturalistas and those who were not quite sure what to do with their growing hair! I was especially touched to receive 2 large boxes of girly donations from the women who attended for my mentees in Queendom T.E.A.! I was able to create gift bags for all of my mentees full of nail polish, lip gloss, journals and more! Of course I cannot go anywhere without finding a young queen to empower. Jada, who remembered me from the event last year, shared how inspired and encouraged she was from last year’s event! I reminded this high school queen to let negativity at school roll off of her back and to allow her afro puff to continue to grow as she grows into a beautiful woman. Lakisha Hill, the Baltimore Coordinator of this fabulous cause, deserves to take a breath of fresh air after hosting a super successful production! I am so thankful for the support of the natural hair community! Here are a few photos from the event:
Of course, I had to be sassy for the cause! 😉 Here is a look at what I wore on INHMD!
