Be Your Own Sunshine
The following came to me during a morning bible study recently:
Stop stressing and straining to be a different you, because the real you is perfect and priceless. It’s not only what God has to work with. It’s what God wants to work with. And from that starting place, progress is possible.
At the start of this year and during my empowerment brunch with other powerful women I claimed that I would slay EVERYTHING in 2016. So far, I have done so, but it certainly has not been easy. I have had some awesome opportunities and experiences that were also accompanied by bricks in the road: being falsely accused, escaping a car fire, being dismissed as a friend, having someone close to me contemplate suicide, or how about repeatedly hearing how you are doing “it” wrong… these were a few of my biggest challenges that I truly had to slay. I must say that I have handled each with grace, which to me is the embodiement of a queen.
Today I am my own #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday) because I fought so hard to become this woman that I love unconditionally.
I am forever grateful to Primrose BoutiQ for seeing greatness in me and always sending me exclusive pieces to showcase. In this beautifully unique dress, I was able to feel like and be my own sunshine. I will never dim my brightness due to bricks in the road. My smile in these photos is genuine: I love being me and accept myself as I am. Be encouraged today.
